Smart Grid Configuration in Railway Infrastructure: Meeting for collaboration between PROMINT and ADIF
Milan Prodanovic from IMDEA Energía and Emilio Bueno from the University of Alcalá, held a meeting with José Conrado Martínez, Head of R&D&I Project Development at ADIF, on 19 May 2021 to establish the work to be carried out to collaborate in ADIF's proposal for the configuration of smart grids in the railway infrastructure.
Specifically, the activities to be carried out under the PROMINT programme will support ADIF in the onshore incorporation of Electronic Power Converters connected to the Direct Current (DC) and Alternating Current (AC) traction network.
The GEISER research group (UAH) will provide ADIF with simulations adaptable to its case. On the other hand, IMDEA Energía will provide support in the simulation, on computer and in the IMDEA-SEIL laboratory, of a scaled model of all operating modes (DC and AC) and of anomalous situations, and also in the analysis and testing in the laboratory of different architectures and of the penetration of harmonics in DC and AC networks.
Following the meeting, the PROMINT researchers were able to visit the facilities installed by ADIF in Atocha for fast charging of electric vehicles.
